John Duff Erickson

1933-2022

In memoriam of John Duff Erickson

John Duff Erickson graduated from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in 1955 with a mining engineering degree, and later returned as a professor in 1978. A dedicated and loyal member of the Mines faculty for 20 years, Professor Erickson served as Department Chair for 16 years.

He retired from teaching in 1995, but continued as Director of the Alumni Association for 14 years where he expanded the institution's network of alumni and friends throughout the U.S. and beyond.
