Read The Hardrock magazine & the Hardrock E-News

The easiest way to stay informed is to read the Hardrock E-News which comes out the first Wednesday of the month. If you know an alum who should be recognized in E-News or if you are hosting a local alumni event that you'd like us to promote, please email alumni@sdsmt.edu

The Hardrock is available both in print (spring edition) and in digital. Stay informed about exciting campus updates, learn about what our alumni are up to, feel nastolgic as you read about interesting Mines history tidbits, and read about how our alumni are giving back to the university and today's Hardrockers.

Network with alumni in your area

If you want to network with alumni in your area, consider joining your local chapter (or starting a chapter if one does not exist!).

Connect with students on campus

We love it when alumni come back to campus to connect with current students and faculty. Whether it's as a guest speaker in a class, interviewing students during our fall or spring career fair, mentoring junior students, serving on a panel discussion for an event, or writing n encouraging postcard to a first-year student, you can connect with Mines students in meaningful ways. Additionally, if your organization is hiring or open to hosting interns, use Handshake, our free online career portal, to recruit Mines students.

If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, contact Shelli.Grinager@sdsmt.edu, Director of Alumni Relations.

Attend on-campus events

Campus has no shortage of opportunities for alumni to be involved! From Rocker Days, to our 5-year Reunion, to sporting events, to art shows, concerts, and more, local alumni or those visiting the area will always have an excuse to visit Mines. To ensure you're receiving information about on-campus and virtual events, be sure your information is up to date
