Jeff Allen (BS ChE 77) retired from Caterpillar , Inc in 2016, after a 38 year career and currently resides in Piedmont, SD. The last 10 years at Caterpillar, Jeff was the Commercial Process Manager responsible for the Marketing and Sales back office for all Caterpillar Branded Engines sold to all worldwide Cat Dealers. He led the Engine Division's Order Management business process transformation which included configuration, quoting, ordering and invoicing and business warehouse using SAP software. Jeff also has 25 years experience in Engine Division Purchasing and is a Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager. During his career, he completed continuing education courses at Penn State, Michigan State and Northwestern Universities and Executive Business Management at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

For the past 45 years, Jeff has been married to Jean Donnenwirth, formerly from Rapid City,  who he met at SDSM&T. They have three children, Kristina, Jenara and Jordan and three grandchildren.

He is currently active with Mehllen, LLC, owner of the Bristlecone Lodge in Woodland Park, Co and the Black Hills Chapter of the Alumni Association. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, hunting, fishing, sailing, investing and watching World Series Sevens Rugby.
