New Heights Celebration - April 25, 2025

In 2020, South Dakota Mines set out to achieve an audacious goal: to raise $100 million to advance our university into a new era of excellence and global impact. The New Heights Comprehensive Campaign has centered on five strategic pillars to help students reach new heights in academics and opportunities:

$50 million Academic and athletic scholarships
$22 million for department and programmatic support
$10 million to expand the Surbeck Student Center
$12 million for a cutting-edge Mineral Industries building
$10 million to strengthen the Center for Alumni Relations and Advancement

As we move into the final phase of the campaign, we want to celebrate the success we've seen so far, and propel ourselves forward to reach our final goals. Join us as we host a ribbon cutting for the Nucor Mineral Industries buildling and launch the final phase of the New Heights Comprehensive Campaign.

*An additional opportunity to attend the choir concert on campus after the celebration is also available.

3 to 5 p.m. - Ribbon Cutting for the Nucor Mineral Industries Building
Tours of the building will be available after a short program.

5 to 7 p.m. - New Heights Final Phase Launch Celebration
Join us for a happy hour and heavy hors d'ourvres with a short program to celebrate launching into the final phase of this campaign.

7 p.m. - Spring Choir Concert

2025 Nucor Mineral Industries Ribbon Cutting

Friday April 25

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Construction is complete and classes are taking place in the Nucor Mineral Industries building, so join us as we host a ribbon cutting, celebrating the opening of this state of the art facility. Tours of the building will be available after a short program. Join us afterwards for a celebration of the New Heights Final Phase Launch.
