An Engineer's Guide to Sustainable Engineering
Hosted by the Office of Professional Education
When: Sept. 20, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. 
Where: Pearson Alumni Center, Meeting Rooms 1 & 2
Instructor: Civil Engineering Professor Dr. Heidi Sieverding
PDH: 4 hours

Earth Overshoot estimates that it would take 5.1 Earths to support the world’s population if everyone lived like Americans. As the impacts and consequences of overconsumption, resources competition, climate change. and other sustainability-related challenges are becoming more evident, engineers are being expected to integrate more sustainable practices. This short-course will introduce participants to sustainability-related concepts, analyses, and quick-start resources that are useful to engineering professionals.

Coffee and snacks will be provided. The Pearson Alumni Center is located at 330 E. Kansas City St. in Rapid City next to the Surbeck Center at South Dakota Mines.
