2024 Conference on Science at Sanford Underground Research Facility

South Dakota Mines is hosting the Conference on Science at Sanford Underground Research Facility from May 14-16. Scientific areas of discussion include Neutrino Oscillations, Proton Decay, Nuclear Astrophysics, Dark Matter, Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay, Materials Science for Nuclear and Particle Physics, Geology, and Astrobiology and Life in Extreme Environments.

We are in the initial stages of planning an underground tour at Sanford Underground Research Facility for Friday, May 17. Please indicate your interest in participating. However, it's important to note that the tour's confirmation is pending, primarily due to the ongoing maintenance activities at the Yates shaft.
