Stay Connected Through Local Area Chapters

Area chapters exist across the country to allow you to stay connected, network, socialize, and reminisce. Connect with fellow alumni in your area, wherever you live.

If there is not an active Area Chapter in your local area, get involved and help get one started. Contact South Dakota Mines Alumni Engagement Office at 605.394.2347 or alumni@sdsmt.edu for help.

Stay connected through events

The Center for Alumni Relations & Advancement hosts hundreds of events each year throughout the country. These events are a perfect way to engage and connect with fellow alumni, as well as get updates on campus happenings from leadership.

Read the latest Hardrock magazine

The Hardrock Magazine is an annual publication, released each summer that exists to tell the South Dakota Mines story. Each year it features stories about alumni, campus happenings, and is packed full of photos from events.

Connect with students on campus

We love it when alumni come back to campus to connect with current students and faculty.

Whether it’s as a guest speaker in a class, interviewing students during our fall or spring career fair, mentoring junior students, serving on a panel discussion for an event, or writing an encouraging postcard to a first-year student, you can connect with Mines students in meaningful ways.

Additionally, if your organization is hiring or open to hosting interns, use Handshake, our free online career portal, to recruit Mines students.

If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Job Hunting?

Whether you’re looking for a new job, an internship opportunity, or just to expand your professional network, alumni are able to use Hardrocker Connections to make those crucial connections.

  • Review job postings
  • Network with fellow alumni and industry leaders
  • Volunteer to help other Hardrockers.

Attend on Campus Events

Campus has no shortage of opportunities for alumni to be involved! From Rocker Days to our Five Year Reunion, from sporting events to art shows, concerts, and more, local alumni or those visiting the area will always have an excuse to visit Mines.
