Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to help you stay connectedEngagement
How do I register for an event?
You can register for any upcoming CARA event directly through the event listing. Each event page includes a registration button that will take you to our Eventbrite registration form.
How can I start an official CARA Alumni Chapter in my area?
To start a Chapter, your region must have 200 or more local alumni and at least four events planned each year. If you’re interested in forming a Chapter or learning whether your area qualifies, contact the CARA office—we’ll help guide you through the process and provide the resources you need to get started.
Can I host a local alumni event if my area doesn't meet chapter requirements?
Absolutely! Any alumni or group of alumni can organize a local gathering using Hardrocker Connections, our alumni platform that includes a directory, job postings, events, and networking tools. Simply log in and create your event, and CARA can help promote it to alumni in your area. If you have any questions email alumni@sdsmt.edu.
Are there fees associated with CARA event registrations?
Some events may have associated fees, and those will be clearly listed in the event description. If an event uses Eventbrite for ticketing, service and processing fees may apply at checkout.
Can I bring guests to events?
Yes! Family and friends are always welcome at CARA and alumni events. Each event listing will note any specific guest guidelines, but in general, we encourage you to bring others to share in the Hardrocker spirit.
What if I need to cancel or change my registration?
If your plans change, you can update or cancel your registration through Eventbrite using the link in your confirmation email. For help, you can also contact the CARA office at any time.
How do I stay updated about upcoming events?
Check the Events page regularly and make sure your contact information is up to date in our database. This ensures you receive invitations, updates, and opportunities to connect with fellow Hardrockers. You can also manage your communications preferences here.
